Day 2 and 3 of Munich 2K saw wind and great racing. No less than 45 races in 2 days with all teams having some impressively tight races. The Race Management team of Bayerischer Yacht Club kept pounding out the races at record pace to make up for a windless first day. With 2 round robins completed the event moved to a first to two win final between the newly formed Queen Mary Sailing Club team and the seasoned DMTRA. Race 1 and it was the Dutch all the way, with boats exchanged Race 2 started poorly for the Dutch but they managed to get back through some truly awesome downwind work…but not enough to catch Queen Mary. Now one each the Dutch were penalised off the start line, but in the shifty conditions they were soon back in contention… but in the end it was not to be, with the new team from Queen Mary taking the final and deciding race. Third place on the medal podium went to the Royal Thames.

As always with 2K events off the water seemed just as important as the racing. The host team and club organised a great formal supper followed by dancing, then on Saturday a surprise 2K birthday party to celebrate in truest Bavarian style the 10th anniversary of 2K.

Thanks to Roman Luyken and the great Bayerischer Yacht Club team for an event which celebrated our 10 years in the best of 2K traditions.
