Hosted by the Royal Thames Yacht Club at its London venue, Queen Mary Sailing Club, 2K has never seen it better. Six teams and perfect conditions. The race management team broke all records by running no less than 53 races over two days. With not a single race a walk away 1-2 the action was impressive and demanding. After 51 races the leaders Royal Thames and Castaways (London University Alumni) then moved to the final. A brilliant start by Castaways had the Thames trailing in a miserable 3-4… but as so often it was the run to the finish line that saw all change… and the Thames took the first win. Race two and another win for the Thames gave them First overall. In third the unlikely named Phoenish. Newcomer to 2K Ryde School from the Isle of Wight showed remarkable form especially in the demanding conditions on day 2.
