7 teams , 3 from Germany and for the first time also a team from Switzerland joined the Dutch and Brits for a truly great event organised by the Potsdam Yacht Club. Huge effort was put into getting the boats to the lake, tuning them and getting them ready for the event. Big thanks to Heiko and team for all this preparatory work. Then the Yacht Club team lead by Frank Thieme in providing all the additional resources and the full race management team, who did a brilliant job in what towards the end were difficult conditions.

Day 1 perfect.. great breeze , though a touch shifty as we raced near the club. Despite the variation in experience virtually every race was tightly fought and 1-2 was rarely a safe combination on the final leg. The leader board had the Royal Thames with only one loss to the “Masters team” from Lymington. while the Dutch in usual form were close behind.

Day 2 less wind, but more than forecast saw the second round completed…. with Royal Thames the clear leader but all to play for between the next 3 teams, DMTRA, Lymington and local team Rafale.

Day 3… tricky conditions, but Frank found the breeze for us…. more very tight racing A single loss by the Dutch however changed the final ranking. Royal Thames came away with only a single loss… taking first place, while Lymington sneaked into second and the DMTRA took third.
