Despite a worrying start with little wind, suddenly a lovely Force 3 arrived at 1030 and  a perfect day of sailing, with winds increasing to a healthy but shifty Force 4.

Royal Thames that had sailed a good Day 1 were suddenly all over the game, while the leaders Ravenna suffered some unexpected losses. DMTRA always a formidable team to take on picked up an irritating half point damage deduction which knocked them out of the three way tie  for first.

But with results so tight at the top all is to play for tomorrow.

Serpentine in 4th has an opportunity to sneak through into the top two. …but no one will be taking chances.

YCCS who are typically strong could shake some of the top places, and Bavaria who have shown great boat speed and with a string of impressive “scalps” could also damage the leaders hopes.

Race 1 tomorrow, a re-sail between DMTRA and Serpentine will see two of the most seasoned teams battling it out.

So watch this space.

For the un-initiated the scoring is a low points system.
