Despite a hard evening/night/morning of Oktoberfest the teams all arrived in time for the first race starting promptly at 0930. Some great racing ended with the Dutch team “Yacht Club Costa Olanda” winning the round robin with no losses. Rome had suffered only one loss in the round robins so took to the ring as the finals contender.

In a splendid 1-2 Rome showed great speed and took the first race. Race 2 went to the Dutch and then the breeze that was already fickle died. All agreed to wait until 4 to see what would happen… the breeze came back as strong as it had been all day and in a race which turned and turned again the Dutch pulled off the second and crucial win to clinch the event.
